Kantha is a traditional craft of the Indian subcontinent in which layers of vintage saris are hand-stitched together, giving them a second life. We source this material from Basha, an organization that employs Bangladeshi women who are at a high risk of abuse or exploitation. Basha offers these artisans training, employment, autonomy, and also works with their children, ensuring that the cycle of poverty is broken. Like all our products, these Satchels are made with 100% vegan materials. The Kantha textiles are complemented by durable, weather-resistant waxed canvas.
